Study on rheological behavior of PA6 with different relative molecular weight

The effect of relative molecular weight of PA6 on its rheological behavior was studied with capillary rheometer. The experimental results showed that the given nylon 6 melt belonged to pseudoplastic fluid in the experimental range.While the relative molecular weight increasing, the non-Newtonian index(n) decreased, melt consistence (K) increased, the slope and intercept of  lg η~ lg  straight line increased, and the viscous flow activation energy decreased. The relative molecular weight showed good logarithmic linear function with apparent viscosity and melt index.
