Research progress in cyclohexene hydration to cyclohexanol

The research progress in the catalysts and technology for cyclohexene hydration to cyclohexanol was reviewed. The existing problem in the catalysts and technology for cyclohexene hydration was analyzed. The popular hydration catalyst was primarily zeolites which are stable and easy to be separated for recycling use. It was pointed out that the traditional cyclohexene hydration technology had the disadvantages of high consumption and low conversion. The research trend of cyclohexene hydration technology should be focused on the development of reactive distillation technology and the corresponding ion exchange resin.
