The Value of Three-dimensional Reconstruction in Displaying the Morphological Characteristics of Solitary Pulmonary Nodules and Distinguishing the Malignant Tumors

Objective: To investigate the value of tree-dimensional reconstruction in displaying the morphological characteristics of solitary pulmonary nodules and distinguishing the malignant tumors. Method: 45 cases of solitary pulmonary nodules were examined by multi-slice CT scanning and enhanced scanning. The imaging findings were subjected to three-dimensional reconstruction by VR,MPR and MIP,and the reconstructed images were compared to evaluate the diagnostic values of different methods of reconstruction in finding the important manifestations of solitary pulmonary nodules for an accurate diagnosis. Result: MPR did not show significantly higher diagnostic value than axial imagining( P 0. 05); VR showed significant superiority to axial imagining in displaying marginal forms,internal structures and pleural indentation( P 0. 05); MIP showed significant superiority to axial imagining in displaying marginal forms and adjacent bronchi( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Three-dimensional reconstruction can significantly increase the accuracy of imagining diagnosis,serving as an effective method in distinguishing malignant tumors from benign tumors.
