Development of E6018 Electrode with Ultralow Hydrogen and High Toughness

Yu Zhishui Zheng Hanqiang (Zbenjiang Shipbuilding Institute) (Nanjing Electrode Factory)  
Developed a E6018 Electrode which can provide the ultralow hydrogen, high toughness and high anticracking properties in weld metal. It has been proved to have excellent adaptabilities in welding low alloy high strength steel of 490 MPa grade yield strength. The deposited metal was designed to obtain the acicular ferrite structure, which has the better low-temperature impact toughness even under welding with high heat input.
