Research and Application of Optimum Design of Multi-component Mooring Line

YU Long, TAN Jia-hua(School of Naval Architechture Ocean and Civil Eng., Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai 200030, China)  
Deep water catenary mooring system design has to select the combination of the segments. Based on catenary equations of multi-component mooring line, this paper brings out multi-objective optimization functions for solving this problem. It builds a minimum model for optimal parameters of multi-component mooring lines and compute a semi-submersible mooring system upgrading using Genetic Algorithm. The model is used in a practical design assignment cooperating with design graph.
