Preliminary studies on diversity of Calliphoridae (Diptera:Calliphoridae) in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

The diversity of the family Calliphoridae (Diptera: Calliphoridae) is studied, including the species total number, endemic species and fauna in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. A total of 120 species, occupying 44.28% of the known Chinese species of the family are known in this region. They belong to 5 subfamily and 35 genera, of which 55 species, occupying 45.83%, are endemic to this region. The endemics, the Palaearctic + Orientals, the Orientals and the Palaearctics are dominant in the fauna. There are also some species distributed in other zoogeographic realm. The possible reasons for the richness of the endemic species and the influence by the geological and ecological factors are discussed. The proportions of the components in the fauna are listed and their possible reasons are also discussed.
