Determination of hydroxyl radical in Fenton reaction by spectrophotometry

Liu Liming, Liu Lihong, Song Gongwu, Fang Guangrong(School of Chemistry and Material Science, Hubei University,Wuhan 430062,China)  
A new method was developed for determination of the hydroxyl radical in Fenton reaction by spectrophotometry. After methyl violet react Fenton regent, the absolution was declined. With the change of absolution, it can be used to determine the hydroxyl radical indirectly and found out the optimal determination conditions. The results of clearing experiment showed the method was applied to sieve the antioxidants.
