On Banners Land During the Early Reign of the Qing Dynasty

ZHAO Ling-zhi (History Department,Central University for Nationalities,Beijing 100081, China)  
In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Imperial Household Department and Eight Banner nobles admitted many people to get more land and labors, which became one of the evil administrations at that time. Those who came to Eight Banner nobles and Imperial Household Department with their land became village head and those without land became labors who could get cord land for their masters. In this way, Eight Banner nobles solved the issue of scarce labors and live on them.
