A Combined Transfer Matrix and Boundary Element Method for Predicting Vibration and Sound Radiation of Submerged Revolutionary Shell

A combined transfer matrix and boundary element method (CTBM) is presented for predicting the vibration and sound radiation of a submerged revolutionary shell by harmonic force.The results of CTBM show a good agreement with the results of special function method, where a submerged spherical shell is used as a typical example.Then, the sound radiation from a streamlined revolutionary shell is studied, where a point harmonic force acts upon the tail-end of the shell.When the sound radiation of excitor is considered, the results of CTBM agree well with the experime-ntal results.It shows that the CTBM is one of effective methods for predicting the vibration arid sound radiation of a submerged revolutionary shell.
