Analysis and testing of dispersion characteristics in a corrugated-wall waveguide

A high frequency electromagnetic system is a main part of a microwave tube.Its characteristics and parameters can directly influence the most technical index of a microwave device.As an important slow wave system,a corrugated-wall waveguide has been applied to a high power microwave device such as a relativistic traveling wave tube or backward wave oscillator.By means of linear field theory,the dispersion relation of the corrugated-wall waveguide is derived.The dispersion characteristics of the periodic corrugated-wall waveguide are achieved,respectively,by means of numerical calculation and resonance measure.On the basis of the analysis,it is found that the two results tend to be identical.
