Optimum technological conditions of adsorption of Cr~(3+) on palygorskite treated with hydrochloric acid in the solution

The optimum technological conditions of adsorption of Cr3+ on palygorskite treated with hydrochloric acid in the solution were investigated with orthogonal L16(43) experiments. The results indicate that when the clay partical size is less than 74 μm, the stirring rate is 150 r/min,the volume of solution for adsorption is 50 mL and the above three factors act as invariable ones, the optimum technological conditions are as follows: the adsorption temperature is 90 ℃, the adsorption time 4 h, and the dosage of palygorskite 1.5 g.
