Numerical simulation of residual stress in dissimilar steel welding based on the software ANSYS

The welded joints of dissimilar steel in boilers are the critical parts when the boilers run. The software ANSYS is used here to simulate the residual and postheating stress fields of the welded joint when the pearlitic heat resisting steel G102 and the austenitic stainless steel SUS304 are welded,and the residual stress fields of the TIG joint corresponding respectively to the nickel flux Inconel82 and the austenitic flux H1Cr25Ni13 are compared. It has been shown that the stress concentration appears near the pearlitic side in both cases, but both the peak stress and the stress grads are smaller when using nickel flux. It has also been shown that postheating treatment can improve the stress distribution dramatically.
