Analysis of an optimum strategy in the battle of Trfalgar

An analysis is made of the distribution of troops of both Britain navy and French and Spanish alliance in the well-known marine battle of Trfalgar,in which Britain navy concentrated combat power against French fleet’s vulnerabilities. The result of the battle is discussed using the Lancester square equation,and on the basis of the principle of concentrating superior forces,the model of selecting the optimum target to destruct with less strength comparing with the enemy’s is set up by using the 0～1 integral programming. In addition, two parameters in the model are assessed and the model is solved by Branch and Bound Method(BBM).The conclusion is coincide with the strategy of Britain navy.
