Treatment of the wastewater from production of epoxy resin by the two-stage anaerobic biological technique

The two-stage anaerobic biological technique is introduced to treat wastewater from production of epoxy resin.The experimental results are as follows: the COD removal rate reached 91% and the suspended solids(SS) removal rate was 67% after treatment by the anaerobic migrating blanket reactor(AMBR) and the expanded granular sludge bed(EGSB) reactor;the pH value of the effluent water decreased from 6.80 to 5.86 and volatile fatty acids(VFA) varied from 1 265 mg/L to 3 862 mg/L when influent water was treated by the AMBR reactor,and the acidification effect was preferable;the effluent water from the AMBR was treated by the methanation reactor(EGSB reactor) and the efficiency of methanation was favourable,and the pH and VFA became 7.61 and 206 mg/L respectively.Then the water was further treated by the SBR in the continuing process and the effluent water met the demands of National Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard.
