Study of the Global Kinetics of COS Catalytic Hydrolysis

The global kinetics model of COS hydrolysis over activated alumina catalyst was investigated using a tubular-flow reactor under conditions :102- ℃atmospheric pressure, COS concentration 6. 5-20. 3 mg/ Nm3, vapour /gas ratio 0. 03 -0. 08 and CO2 atmosphere, Gauss-Newton method is used to estimate the parameters of the global kinetic model of this system. The established global kinetic model is as follows- 0. 69, - 0. 14,- 1. 0-order behavior were observed for COS, H_2O, and CO_2 respectively, The external mass transfer resistance is negligible under the range of space velocity:1050-2050h-1
