LIU Ping, ZENG Guang-ming, HUANG Jin-hui, NIU Cheng-gang(Environmental Science and Engineering Department, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China)
Currently, biosorption is one of the most promising technologies in the treatment of waste water containing heavy metals, and is especially effective in the treatment of waste water containing 1~100 mg/L of heavy metals. The mechanism of biosorption and the adsorption characteristics of different microorganisms with heavy metals are introduced in a detailed way, the various factors affecting biosorption process is discussed, and a forecast of the orientation of the development of biosorption of heavy metals is made finally.
