Treatment of Woolen Dyeing Wastewater by TiO_2 Film Solar Photocatalytic Oxidation Process

Woolen dyeing wastewater was treated in a solar photocatalytic oxidation reactor made of glass and filled with short glass tubes.The surface of the tubes was covered with TiO 2 film by sol gel process.The wastewater was recycled in the reactor by a submerged water micropump and the air was imbibed at the same time to supply oxygen.The influence of solar radiation time,original pH of influent and quantity of supplied oxygen on COD removal efficiency was studied.The results show that the treatment efficiency of the process is better than that of biologycal treatment process and that of photocatalytic oxidation process with suspended catalyst.The catalyst of the process can be continuously used without separation and recovery,making the process suitable to industrial utilization.
