Treatment of Coking Wastewater by Heterogeneous Catalytic Oxidation Process

The effects of treating coking wastewater by heterogeneous catalytic oxidation process were studied.The optimum conditions are as follows:γ-Al_2O_3 impregnated by 80g/L Cu(NO_3)_2 as catalyst,wastewater pH 3,volume fraction of catalyst 40% and that of H_2O_2 4%,and reaction time above 3h.After treated,COD and mass concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater are reduced from 4 540mg/L to below 600mg/L and from 552mg/L to below 160mg/L,respectively.
