Treatment of Chromium Containing Wastewater with Sulfur Dioxide

Tang Qingjia (Shenyang Mechanical and Electrical Designing and Research Institute, Shenyang 110006)
SO 2 in the exhaust gas has been used as a reducing reagent in the treatment of large flow wastewater containing high concentration of Cr +6 ,achieving good chromium removal efficiency. When the concentration of Cr +6 in the influent is 90.0~430.8mg/L,its effluent concentration can meet the discharge standard after reduction and sedimentation treatment. This process is charaterized by essentially realizing the closed recirculation of SO 2, the concentration of SO 2 finally emitted into the air is less than 15mg/L.
