Chitosan Template-Induced Biomimetic Synthesis of Nano Spindle-shaped Hydroxyapatite

Based on the principles of biomineralization,spindle-shaped hydroxyapatites(HA) were synthesized through biomimetic method with chitosan as template.The structure and chemical composition and thermal behavior were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis(TG-DTA) respectively.The results showed that spindle-shaped nano-HA was synthesized under the template of chitosan in 6% hydrogen peroxide with the size of 30~40 nm in length and 7~8 nm in width.Furthermore,the crystallinity of samples aging l d were very low and the crystallinity of HA increasesd with the aging time.
