Study on the synergistic modification of attapulgite with octotyltrimethyl ammonium chloride and silicone coulpe agent

Organic surface synergistic modification on nano-attapulgite with octotyltrimethyl ammonium chloride(OTAC)and silicone coulpe agent(KH570)was studied in this paper.The effects of the reaction time,reaction temperature and the dosage of OTAC and KH570 on the synergistic modification was discussed.The samples before and after modification were characterized by XRD,IR,TG,DTA techniques.The results showed that the suitable mass ratio of OTAC and KH570 were respectively 2%,20% at 80 ℃.The first reaction time was 3 hrs and the second reaction time was 2 hrs.The modified attapulgite was changed from hydrophilicity to hydrophobicity through this method.
