Preparation and characterization of waterborne modified-epoxy acrylate resin

The modified-epoxy resin with hydrophilic links and end epoxy group was prepared based on the reaction of epoxy resin and dihydroxyl compound. Then waterborne modified-epoxy acrylates resin was obtained by esterifying reaction of epoxy ring and carboxyl. The effects of catalyst kinds, their concentration and reaction temperature on the conversions were studied. It is showed that the appearance and water-solubility of the product is good when KOH is used as a catalyst and its strength is 0 5% and the reaction temperature is 90℃.The structure of the synthesis resin is characterized by FT-IR, which indicates that object product is obtained.
