The study on the properties of the fluoroacrylate copolymer latex film

The self-emulsifying cationic fluoroacrylate copolymer emulsion was prepared with styrene(St),dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate(DM),butyl acrylate(BA) and 2-(N-methylperfluorooctanesulphonethyl) acrylate(FM) by soap-emulsion copolymerization.the properties of latex film were discussed.The results showed that When m(St)∶m(BA) was 1∶(1~1.5),the emulsion had good membrane formation property.The amount of KPS increased,the water-repellency ability of the latex film decreased.The amount of fluorine monomer increased,the water and solvent-repellency ability of the latex film increased,the tensile of the latex film increased,and the strain decreased.The change of the liquid's contact angles on the surface of the latex films indicated the fluorine segment of the fluoroacrylate copolymer had the trend to assemble at the surface of the film;the surface free energy of the latex film decreased with the increase of the amount of the fluorine monomer.
