RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF BIOHYDROMETALLURGY

Xiang Lan Ke Jajun (Institute of Chemical Metallurgy,Chinese Academy of Scieuces)  
Biohydrometallurgical technology has been used for extracting metals from low-grade deposits and refractory ores,and has been practised in leaching copper and uranium on an industral scale,Considerable progresses have been made in pretreatment of some harmful impurities such as arsenic, sulphur,etc.This paper discusses the mechanisms,research and application, existing problems,and developing tendencies related to bacterial leaching of ores.
