Effect of Welding Heat Input on the Mechanical Properties of X65MS Pipeline Steel Welded Joints

The effects of heat input on the microstructure,mechanical properties and HIC-resistance of the X65MS pipeline steel welded joints were studied by using the three-wires submerged arc welding process,and the results showed that within the research scope of heat input,the heat input has some effects on the microstructure,strength,toughness,and hardness of the welded joints,while slight effect on HIC-resistance performance.With heat input increasing,the strength,impact toughness and hardness of welded joints reduce,and the microsturcture become coarse.When the outside welding heat input is 34 kJ/cm,the welded joints of X65MS three-wires submerged arc welding are with excellent comprehensive properties and HIC-resistance performance.
