Regression analysis of initial geostress for an underground power plant region

Based on the measured data of initial geostress and engineering and hydrologicalgeological conditions in the region of an underground power plant, factors affecting the initial geostress are discussed. With ANSYS taken as a tool for finite element calculation, the initial stress of the underground power plant region under each affecting factor is calculated. Then, a multivariate regression model is developed for measured and calculated results of geostress at measurement points, and the regression coefficient of the model is derived. With the model, the regularities of initial geostress distribution are obtained, providing a rational 3D initial geostress field for design and construction of the underground power plant.
