Application of image processing method to evaluation of electrodeposition effect

As to the electrodeposition method for repair of concrete cracks, three image processing methods, including the Photoshop method, self-definition threshold method for binarization image segmentation, and Ostu method with maximal variance between two classes, were adopted to calculate the surface coverage for samples—an evaluation index for electroposition effect. The comparison of the segmented images with those for calculation of the surface coverage shows that the calculated results of the three methods are reasonable, and that the former two methods are of high subjectivity, while the last one is more reliable, automatic, and fast.
