Numerical and testing research on dynamic characteristics of a tubular pump house of the third Huaian Pumping Station

A case study was performed on the third Huaian pumping station to study the vibration characteristics of tubular block-foundation pump house.The main vibration modes and frequencies were determined by the finite element method and pulsating method.Comparison of the results of the two methods shows that the upper powerhouse structure has an important influence on the fundamental frequency of turbular block-foundation pump house whose lower structure has higher stiffness than the upper structure,and that the key to determine the natural frequency of lower pump house structure is to correctly simulate the effect of the slab on the powerhouse floor.It is also indicated that the measuring points should be arranged at the layers with great stiffness variation.
