Research on the Above-Knee Prosthesis with a Pneumatic Swing Control Knee Joint

In this paper, the above-knee prosthesis with a pneumatic swing control knee joint has been designed with the theory of mechanisms, biomechanics and fluid mechanics. Based on analysis of the stance phase and the dynamic stability of the prosthesis, a planar multi-linkages is used as the poly-center knee mechanisms of the prosthesis, after given the mathematical medal of its. Then best structure parameters is given by using optimizing method. A pneumatic control device is used as swing phase control device of the AK prosthesis ,for matching with the step phase of usually man. The structure of pneumatic swing knee joint is designed in the end.
