Two Dimensional Analysis on China University Administrative Power Change in the Background of Social Transformation

XU Juan (School of Education,Huazhong University of Science & Technology,Wuhan 430074,China)
University bureaucratization was the result of the alienation of administrative power, but there was a deeper social cause.Social transformation made a profound effect to the university administrative power, which led to changes in two dimensions. In the first dimension, the scope of the university administrative power narrowed in four aspects: profession, curriculum, personnel and institution;in the second dimension, the levels of the university administrative power strengthened from executive power to decision-making power. However, the university administrative power still has not returned to the logic of serving the academic power. Then, the standardization of social operation is essential to reform university bureaucratization.Meanwhile, the institutionalization of academic power is the key.
