Analysis on Meteorological Factors Effect on Red Tide

Based on the example of red tide happened in Liaodong Gulf from August to October in 1998,the effects of meteorological factors on the whole process of the red tide are analyzed. The results show that meteorological factors, which are the key factors in inducing red tide such as temperature, precipitation, sunlight, wind etc.are close related to its happening, developing and dying down. There are large amount precipitation over land before it,obvious increase of temperature when it begins, clear sky, higher temperature, lower wind speed during its developing time, and temperature decrease or precipitation when it will die down.At fit temperature, precipitation play an important role of its happening and developing. At last, elementary idea of meteorological potential prediction of red tide is discussed based on the relationship between meteorological factors and red tide.
