It is common that composite impervious layers of GM+GCL,which are superior to only GM or CCL,are used in solid waste landfills.Howerve,they have their own disadvantages.GM+GCL,GCL of which is an effective replacement for CCL,is an innovative composite impervious system.From following perspectives:interface contact,impact access of freeze/thaw cycles and differential settlement,construction convenience and economical cost,this article compares GCL with CCL.At last,a case history that substituted CCL for GCL is introduced.
