ADVANCES OF METAL POLLUTION STUDY IN SOILS

Wang Hongkang(Beijing Agricultural University)
At present, the metal pollution of worldwide interests are selenium, lead, and aluminum. The factors, such as soil pro-perties(pH,organic matter, cation exchange capacity etc.), metal transport in soil, its crop effect (root uptake, absorption mechanism, soil-plant barrier, and tissue concentration), and compound effect on crops, which influence the metal pollution, were discussed. The recent advances in the field of "Metals in Soils, Waters, Plants, and Animals" from the International Conference(Florida, Orlando, 1990) were also introduced.
