QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS(PAHs)IN AEROSOLS

Referring to QA and QC procedures of U. S. EPA method 610,quantitative analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in aerosols were performed. The aerosol samples were ultrasonic extracted and the extracts were separated by chromatographic column packed with silica gel. The PAHs fraction was detected by capillary column gas chromatography with FID and furtherly identified by HP 5972 GC-MSD. The recoveries of PAHs ranges from 80. 7 to 110. 0% and the method detection limits for 16 PAHs are 8. 5pg · m-3. The calibration curves were figured out using mixed standards of 16 PAHs. More than seventy of PAHs, with 2-7 rings, were detected in aerosols of Guangzhou.
