SOURCE APPORTIONMENT OF PAHs IN AEROSOL OF NORTHWEST OF BEIJING

Samples of aerosol were collected in Beijing from 2005 to 2006, and then PAHs were determined by GC-MS. The ratios of PAHs, the methods of principal component analysis/multiple linear regression(PCA/MLR)and positive matrix factorization(PMF)were used to investigate the sources of PAHs.Three factors, i.e. vehicles exhaust, coal combustion and biomass burning were identified by PCA/MLR, and their contributions were 70.27%, 21.84% and 7.89 %, respectively. PMF can further distinguish the influence of gasoline-powered vehicles and diesel-powered vehicles.The contribution of gasoline-powered vehicles was predominant in all seasons.During heating-period in winter, the contribution of coal combustion increased.In autumn, biomass burning contributed more to PAHs than other reasons, which was probably related with the burning of straw by farmers.The ratios of PAHs showed the target PAHs in this study mainly came from local source emissions.
