Combined catalyst system for selective catalytic reduction NO in the presence of oxygen

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitrogen oxides is one of the most efficient ways to remove NO x from lean burn automobile exhaust, but single active component catalysts or one type of catalysts does not satisfy practical demand, more active components catalysts and structural organization of more than two kinds of catalysts would be necessary for the practical application to the lean burn condition. In this paper, the types of combined catalyst system and the development of selective catalytic reduction NO x with combined catalyst system in recent years are described, some suggestions for designing new combined catalyst system in the future are proposed.
