Study on treatment of electroplating wastewater containing Cu(Ⅱ) with heavy metal capturing agent XL9

Xiu Sha Zhou Qin Huang Zhiyong (College of Environmental Science and Engineering,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510006,China)  
In this study,heavy metal capturing agent XL9 containing dithiocarbamate were prepared for the removal of heavy metal ions Cu(Ⅱ) from electroplating wastewater with different concentrations.The results show that the residual dosage of Cu(Ⅱ) was 0.24 mg/L by directly added 10 mL XL9 into wastewater containing Cu(Ⅱ) 584.79 mg/L without adjusting pH value(pH 2.05) and slower stirring for 3 minutes.The removal rate of Cu(Ⅱ) from wastewater can be achieved 99.96% so as to meet the national emission standards(GB8978-1996).When the range of pH value was 3~10,the removal rate of Cu(Ⅱ) from wastewater containing Cu(Ⅱ) 4.16 mg/L was more than 94.95% treated by added 0.20 mL XL9.The residual dosage of Cu(Ⅱ) is less than 0.5 mg/L.It also can achieve the national emission standards.
