In order to investigate the effectiveness of bioaugmentation of effective microorganisms(EM) and multifunctional compound micro-organisms preparation(MCMP) on septic tank nightsoil sludge reduction, the septic tank nightsoil sludge was selected as the study object. An anaerobic digestion experiment at 35℃ was conducted to investigate the effects of the dosing quantity of EM and MCMP on the removal rate of total solid(TS),volatile solid(VS) and COD of septic tank nightsoil sludge;meanwhile, the correlation between dosing quantity of EM and MCMP and the removal rate of TS,VS and COD was also investigated. The results indicate that the suitable dosing quantity of EM and MCMP to reduce TS,VS and COD of septic tank nightsoil sludge is 0.005%~0.10%;among them 0.01% dosing quantity of EM and MCMP(E2 treatment and M2 treatment) show the best reduction effect of TS,VS and COD.The removal rates of TS,VS and COD of E2 treatment are 32.51%,42.34% and 40.91%,respectively;and 5.83%,5.29% and 7.13% higher than CK,respectively. The removal rates of TS,VS and COD of M2 treatment are 33.74%,46.05% and 43.33%,respectively;and 7.06%,9% and 9.50% higher than CK,respectively. The effect on TS,VS and COD reduction of septic tank nightsoil sludge anaerobic digestion are followed by MCMPEM.The relationships between the dosing quantity of EM and MCMP and the removal rate of TS,VS and COD are negative correlated;the relationships among the removal rate of TS,VS and COD are positive correlated under different dosing quantity of EM and MCMP.
