Heterogeneous Fenton degradation of methylene blue over LiFePO_4 catalyst

LiFePO4 catalyst was synthesized by hydrothermal method.It was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy.The catalyst was used as a heterogeneous Fenton catalyst for degradation of simulated methylene blue(MB) solution.Under the following experimental conditions: 500 mg/L MB solution,initial H2O2 concentration 0.04 mol/L,catalysts dosage 4 g/L,initial solution pH 3,and T=50 ℃,99% decolorization efficiency could be achieved after 60 min.Based on the results,a reasonable mechanism was investigated to interpret the degradation process of MB.
