Identification of Alcaligenes faecalis and its characteristics of tolarating for hexavalent chromium

In order to apply microbial better to control environment pollution,a bacteria with efficient ability in tolarating Cr(VI) was selected from the area where had been polluted by Cr(VI) for a long time and its characteristics of removing Cr(VI) was also studied.The results showed that a strain of Alcaligenes faecalis CQMU-1 with effective removing for Cr(VI) is selected out,and it is viable to remove Cr(VI) from polluted environment.CQMU-1 has the best ability of Cr(VI) tolarating in 7 types of bacteria,and it is identified as Alcaligenes faecalis.When the concentration of Cr(VI) is 100 mg/L,pH is 6.0 to 8.0,temperature is 30℃ and the inoculated bacteria concentration is 0.5 to 2.0 g/L,Cr(VI) removal rate of CQMU-1 reaches up to 94.6%.In the end,the results show that amount of Cr(VI) in nutrient solution declines sharply and little in bacteria at the same time,but the total amount of chromium keeps basic constant after 120 h.
