Study on the Acute and Subacute Toxicities of Chlorophenols on Carassias auratus

NIE Jing-lei, LIU Feng, ZHOU Chun-yu, LIU Zheng-tao (Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences,Beijing 100012,China)
The acute and subacute toxicities of five chlorophenols,i.e.2-chlorophenol,2,6-dichlorophenol,2,3,4-trichlorophenol,2,3,5,6-tetrachlorophenol and pentachlorophenol on the Carassias auratus were studied in vivo. The subacute toxicity endpoints were Carassias auratus liver's Na +-K +-ATPase activity under 1/2 LC 50 ,1/4 LC 50 ,1/6 LC 50 of five chlorophenols. The results showed that:①The acute toxicity LC 50 of chlorophenols increased with the number of chlorine atom on the benzene ring.②Na +-K +-ATPase activity is sensitive to the chlorophenols, thus being a good biomarker for the chlorophenols pollution. The mechanism of the phenomena related to Na +-K +-ATPase activity decrease in fish liver was discussed.
