The Treatment and Trend Analysis of Municipal Solid Waste in China

The treatment methods of municipal solid waste in China were introduced briefly,and current status of municipal solid waste treatment and its trend were studied.The results show that the major treatment method in China is landfill,with the treatment ratio accounting for 95% of the total.The capacity of sanitary landfill is lower,and there exist big differences in treatment levels all over China,so the regional difference exists in municipal solid waste treatment.Based on the correlations of transportation amount of solid waste with other driving factors,such as GDP,per capita GDP and non-agriculture population,the estimating models were built.The models were used to forecast future municipal solid waste generating amount in different scenarios.The forecasting result of non-agriculture population is more close to reality than GDP or per capita GDP-based models.
