Mass Concentration Variation of Atmospheric Particles and Relationship with Visibility in Dandong

Observation data of PM_(10),PM_(2.5) and PM_1 mass concentrations from Dandong dust storm Observation Station in 2008 are utilized to study the mass concentration variation of particles and the relationship with visibility in Dandong.The results show that the number of coarse particles is much larger than fine particles in dust events caused by long distance transport.The mass concentration of inhaled particles has an obvious seasonal pattern;it becomes the highest in winter and the lowest in summer.The percentage of PM_(2.5) and PM_1 in PM_(10) are very high,although mass concentration of PM_(10) in Dandong is very low.In addition,the finer the particles are,the more they affect visibility.
