The colloidal particles present in the raw leachate sampled from the Laogang landfill compartment under placement operation in March 2003 are gradiently separated by a series of membranes with varied porosity. COD\-\{Cr\}, ammonia\|N, conductivity, pH, TOC, IC, TC, FS(fixed solid), TS, colourity, turbidity in the leachate before and after gradient separation by the membrane are determined and quantitatively co\|related to the membrane porosity. It is found that the values of the parameters, such as COD\-\{Cr\}, ammonia\|N, TOC, IC, TC, FS, TS, colourity, turbidity decreased after membrane separation, which indicate that the dissolved fraction have a significant impact on the contamination of the raw leacheate, while conductivity and pH increased at first and then decreased.
