Tao Shu, Chen Jingsheng, Deng Baoshan, Cao Xilai, Ren Jinsong (Department of Geography, Peking Universky)
The concentrations of stream humic substances in the east of China were determined and were found in a range of 0.9 to 14.4 mgL-1 with a medium value of 4.56 mgL-1. The contents of stream humic substances generally decrease from north to south, a tread similar to humic substances contents in aquatic sediments and soils. The results of multiple regression analysis and path analysis showed that the stream humic substances are derived both from autochthonous and allochthonous sources.
