Distribution of the Arsenic Content on inhalable Particulate Matter ( IPM) in Atmosphere

This paper surveyed the distribution of As content on inhalable partieulate matter collected from Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai , Shenyang, Taiyuan cities and Xuanwei County, Yunnan prorncc. The result shown that As content is 60-70% in3.3 μIPM, is higher in the particulte matter collected from the coal-burning for heating city than that in which collected from the non-coal-burning for heating city, and is higher in IPM collected in winter than in IPM collected in summer from same city. Statistic data indicated that As content follows logari-thmicnomal distribution in different sizes of inhalable particle. The relative coefficient is 0.973-0.999, Having remarkable linearity relation. Mass middle diameter is 1.7-2.9μ. Proving the arsenic can be accumulated strongly on surface of the smaller particulate matter, and verified further that coal-burning is one of the arsenic main sources in atmosphere.
