Numerical simulation of unsteady propeller slipstream

Numerical simulation of three-dimensional unsteady Euler equations was conducted to investigate the unsteady propeller slipstream based on the unstructured dynamic overset grids.The rotational movement of the propeller was simulated by establishing a rotational subzone,and the airframe was contained in the stationary subzone.The method of overset grids was suitable to simulation of relative movement between the propeller and airframe.The control equations were solved by using the dual-time method and standard explicit four-stage Runge-Kutta method.The unsteady flow fields of different flight conditions were calculated and the effect of propeller slipstream was analyzed.Some calculated results were compared with experimental data,showing good agreement with each other.
