Fundamental Study of Hybrid Plasma-Laser Rapid Manufacturing Metal Part

The effects of laser on plasma arc beam, welding depth and width of deposition pool in the hybrid plasma-laser rapid manufacturing is investigated by tests. The result shows that the diameter of plasma arc beam becomes smaller, the stiffness and the stability increase and arc starting is easier, the pool depth of the deposition layer increases and the pool width decreases after laser acts on plasma arc. Rapid manufacturing of the high temperature alloy and difficult-melt materials can be carried out by using hybrid plasma-laser deposi-tion manufacturing method.
