Numerical Simulation of the Transient Response of Blade due to Bird Impact

The transient response of aero engine blades under bird impact loads is analyzed with the contact-impact finite element method by numerical simulation in this paper. The mechanism of contact-impact process is discussed. Simulation results in this paper are important for improving the anti-impacting damage ability of blades under bird impact.
