Study on Crack Growth Behaviors of Three Kinds of Aeronautical Materials at 25℃ and -40℃

To study the crack growth behaviors of areonautical materials at low temperature and room temperature, the a-N curves and da/dN-△K curves of LY12CZ, LC4CS aluminium alloys and 30CrMnSiNi2A steel are tested at -40℃ and 25℃ separately.Through the results, it can be found that the a-N curves and the da/dN-△K curves of these materials at -40℃ are both higher than those of at 25℃. All the results show that the crack growth rates of the materials at at -40℃ are lower than those at 25℃, namely at the same condition, the crack growth lives the materails at low invironment are higher than those at room invironment.
